Resumes give a first impression to hiring managers who decide whether you are invited for a job interview. Therefore, it is important that your resume matches both the job requirements and the organization goals and culture. You get plenty examples on the internet if you search on google for good examples. In addition, there are many tools that can help building your resume. These tools will save you time on formatting and editing, present your skills in a unique way, and create a resume for every industry (Canva, n.d.).

However, in my opinion these resume formats are not improving job chances, because these templates are too general. Hiring managers would like to see why you are the perfect candidate compared to all other applicants for a specific job. When you use a template, your resume will look like all the other resumes and will not stand out. Furthermore, suggested words in tools are not always suitable in every industry so it is important to adjust word choice to the job and industry for which you are applying.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help writing a resume by using data and algorithms. Artificial Intelligence can look at your LinkedIn profile, previous jobs, and all other data you provide to suggest what to put on your resume. Moreover, Artificial Intelligence also studies other resumes in the industry and can make recommendations based on trends and industry norms. In this way, your resume is not only customized, but also job and industry specific. Furthermore, Artificial Intelligence searches for keywords and patterns that are essential to process in your resume to enthuse a hiring manager.

There are some online resume tools that are powered by Artificial Intelligence that use smart data sourcing and natural language. In addition, they provide services where you can upload your resume to grade it on applicant tracking systems compatibility, formatting, and sectioning (Skillroads, n.d.).

What do you guys think of using Artificial Intelligence to create a resume?
