In 2016 Q BIO Gemini was founded by Jeffrey Kaditz, Michael Snyder and Garry Choy. Q BIO Gemini is a company that is building the first clinical digital twin platform, which they want to make accessible to everyone. Their vision is ´a world where treatable disease no longer take lives, and each generation is healthier at last´. Together with a team the founders started developing whole body scanner which is the quickest and most accessible scanner that has ever been developed (Q Bio, 2022). This scanner does not use artificial intelligence, but is based on computational biophysics (Business wire, 2021). It is called Mark I and it is able to scan the human body within 15 minutes, the scan does not use radiations and breath holds are not necessary. The person that is scanned only has to stand, sit or lie down in an open space, so no more noisy small spaced MRI scans (Q Bio, 2022). It is even 10 times faster than an MRI scan (Business wire, 2021).

The Mark I keeps track of your autonomy, biochemistry, medical history, genetic risk factors and keeps your lifestyle in mind. It correlates all of these factors and keeps analyzing them, changes and results will be posted on your personal Gemini Dashboard. The results posted on this dashboard can be shared with you doctor, or if necessary a specialist. The idea has received a funding from 80 million dollars from Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. So there is a genuine interest in this idea from hospitals (Sagar, 2021).

I do most certainly think Mark I is a big opportunity, but do not know whether I would fully trust a device which can keep track of my body after a 15 minute scan. But is most certainly a start to a future where the pressure on health can be reduced. Do you think that the Mark I is able to change the future of health? And will it ensure a world where treatable disease no longer takes lives?

  1. This sounds like a major revolution in healthcare that can prevent lots of pain in the world. I am curious if the machines will be affordable for hospitals to use on a large scale. Also, I am very curious about how it can be used in practice. Will we ever experience a society where everyone gets a monthly check-up? And will this increase or decrease healthcare expenses?
