Generative AI software not only can make texts and images but is capable of making videos as well. On average making a video for marketing purposes takes two weeks for companies. With the help of new technology, this process can be shortened to a few minutes. We don’t even have to worry about writing the script, artificial intelligence will write it for us. (Savage, 2023). We don’t need to understand any video editing or editing tasks and we can still make high quality videos.

Many companies have such services that we can try for free, I used Kapwing. Of course, only the basic functions are available for free, we have to pay for the more professional version. You can upload your own pictures and videos and edit them further, with subtitles and many other tools.

I instructed the software to make a video of the best hiking spots in the Netherlands. You can see the video here:

It made this one-and-a-half-minute video in about 1 minute, which is more like a lot of pictures in a row. But the fact is that this is also a quality that can be seen in, say, YouTube shorts or Instagram reels.

I think it will continue to improve in quality and actually be able to compete with man-made videos and possibly movies. For YouTubers, this is somewhere in competition, because people can appear on the platform without any knowledge. We also follow video content producers for their personal nature. AI can’t replace this yet, so I do believe it is not the end of the era of YouTubers, although let’s assume that many influencers will use it or already use it to promote a product or service.
