While the implications of Chat-GPT has been widely discussed for students, the other side of the classroom is still a bit more reluctant to the change of traditional learning to AI-learning. But how could the professors and teachers of this era also use Chat-GPT to their advantage?

Mollick sees AI as a supplementary tool meant to enhance the learning experience rather than a substitute for human interaction. “The AI is remarkably good about taking theory and giving you practice from it. So, if you say I want to have an in-class activity for fifth graders to teach about entropy, and I’ve done this, it came up with a cool idea of an in-class entropy activity involving balls and people standing still and running around. It tied nicely into entropy. And then, it suggested a good classroom discussion. Then, it built a game and coded the whole game for me that students could play with that activity. Such applications can transform how educators approach lesson planning, making learning more interactive and dynamic” (Mollick, 2023). AI can excel in assisting teachers in creating a engaging learning experience for the students.

A second example of teachers using AI is Perusall. Within this platform, students receive assignments that involve reading texts or viewing videos. Within the platform, students annotate the texts or videos by adding comments or questions. “The lecturer then receives detailed information about which passages were most talked about by the students and about which topics there were questions” (Lippert, 2023). This helped the lecturers to know what topics they need to focus on in the lectures.

Could AI benefit the lecturers of these days or should they stay with the traditional way of teaching, since it will possibly give a more personal connection and a way of structured learning.
