Agility and adaptability are crucial in of consulting, and working with artificial intelligence (AI) at “Student Consultant” has been nothing short of transformative. In less than three years, our student-run consultancy firm went from 5 to 80 consultants, servicing companies like Ahold Delhaize, APG, PostNL, Visma Raet, and others. But with high turnover rates as students graduate and move on in their careers, we sought innovative ways to streamline onboarding and empower our consultants, and that’s where AI stepped in.
AI Onboarding:
Recognizing the need to accelerate the integration of new consultants into both our projects and internal functions, we are looking to implement an AI chatbot. As a 24/7 onboarding companion, this smart helper could walk new consultants through our procedures, best practises, and project specifics. It provides quick responses to frequently asked questions, shortening the learning curve and enabling consultants to get started right away.
AI’s Impact in the Workplace:
Our AI experiences are consistent with a larger trend: the increasing use of AI in the workplace. Leading businesses throughout the world are utilising AI’s promise to boost output, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making. For instance, chatbots like Talla are improving internal interactions and knowledge sharing (Slack, n.d.), while IBM’s Watson AI assists businesses in analysing data to yield important insights (IBM, 2019).
As Student Consultant embraces AI’s transformative potential, we’re excited about the future. AI isn’t here to replace us but to empower us, amplifying our capabilities and driving us toward new heights of excellence. As the AI landscape continues to evolve, so too will our journey at Student Consultant, as we explore innovative ways to leverage this technology for the benefit of our consultants and clients. It’s an exciting time to be part of this AI revolution, where the possibilities are limited only by our imagination and ambition. The success of our AI chatbot has piqued our interest in exploring more AI applications within Student Consultant, and I will elaborate on this in my next blog post: Artificial Intelligence at Student Consultant: Part 2
