Generative AI, that one friend who knows everything!

Nowadays, there are a lot of companies who have their own generative AI system. Why would companies develop such systems into their corporate business? It is very simple, it reduces a lot for the employees to do research on specific topics. Take for example the accounting industry, there are a lot of regulations but every company has also its own manual for certain cases. For these specific situations, companies have their own generative AI system. General available systems do not have specific inside company information and are therefore not suitable.

Next to self-developed generative AI systems, in the accountant world it could be very useful to use ChatGPT as well. Just look at the video below, which also tackles some security issues. Some information can be written in other formats, like from csv files to normal tables one could add in excel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ-_u3SFJJ8.

One could conclude that using generative AI such as described in the example above leads to concerns on the ethical side of the algorithms. There are multiple aspects of transformative effects and the lack of moral responsibility possible in such cases. However these concerns can also lead to some positive influences. Autonomy in decision-making for example, it is more likely that less mistakes are made by reducing the dependence on human intervention for simple tasks. However, the issue is that people don’t feel responsible in any sort of way when the generative AI gives them false information. So in other words, a company should focus on how to use generative AI. It can lead to great solutions for simple tasks which makes the company more efficient and more flawless but it is important to remain focus on moral responsibility for what is happening. The question remains: how to deal with generative AI within a company?
