When I think back to the start of my career as a junior product owner, one of the first tasks that landed on my desk was creating walkthroughs and guidelines for new software features. It sounded straightforward enough, but in practice it was exhausting: hours of screen recording, editing out mistakes, writing long explanations, and still ending up with videos and manuals that felt dry and uninspiring. Preparing a manual or video for each new feature or system update also took so much time that we were rarely able to cover the entire software with training materials. Not to mention that the results only looked truly professional if a dedicated video agency produced them, something smaller companies like the one I worked at simply couldn’t afford most of the time.

That experience stuck with me, so when I later came across Trupeer while researching AI startups for an assignment, it immediately caught my attention. Trupeer, founded in 2023 and fresh off a $3 million seed round in July 2025, promises to turn even a rough screen recording into something polished and professional. A user can upload a simple demo, process walkthrough, or internal tutorial, and the platform automatically cleans it up: removing filler pauses, generating smooth voiceovers, adding zooms and subtitles, and even inserting a human-like AI avatar as a presenter. On top of the video, Trupeer produces matching step-by-step documentation with screenshots and summaries, so every feature explanation comes with both a visual guide and a written manual.

This looks like a textbook case of digital disruption, because creating and updating clear explanations, whether for internal training or for end users of a product, has always been a tedious process. It seems that Trupeer’s solution can finally change this, making the production of training and onboarding materials, as well as customer-facing guides, faster, cheaper, and far more scalable.

In many ways, Trupeer feels like Canva did for design. It empowers more people while disrupting the traditional players in the industry. The bigger question is whether this democratization leads to richer communication, or just an endless flood of generic, AI-generated videos. It also remains to be seen whether users actually find these AI-made materials more engaging and easier to understand, or if some will still prefer explanations that come directly from a human.
