GPs and doctors enter medicine to care for people, yet many spend long hours on documentation and coordination (Rotenstein et al., 2023), while patients struggle to interpret complex reports and instructions, due to low health literacy (Willems et al., 2022). In many general practices, doctors face an overflow of patients and limited consultation time, leading to longer waiting lists and growing frustration on both sides. The strain is increasing as populations age, staff shortages persist, and expectations for digital access continue to rise. In this environment workloads intensify and trust weakens when communication remains unclear. Our team aimed to bridge this gap with a practical solution that values medical expertise and empowers patients at the same time. This is why we developed CareSync, a software solution that uses Generative AI to reconnect people, data, and care.

CareSync is a two-sided platform that supports healthcare professionals and patients within one ecosystem. For doctors, an AI assistant listens during consultations, transcribes the conversation, and produces structured notes in a SOAP (symptoms, observations, diagnosis, and treatment plan) format that can be reviewed and approved. The goal is to return time to clinical work and improve documentation quality.

For patients, a personal health companion translates those notes into clear language, offers medication reminders, and provides a quick symptom checker that advises whether contact with a general practitioner is necessary. Furthermore, the CareSync app provides an AI assistant that is available around the clock for support and guidance. Premium features provide better insights with detailed explanations and analytical summaries. The platform does more than automate tasks. It connects both sides through shared context and feedback, so that every approved note and every patient rating improves future guidance.

CareSync is designed to reduce administrative workload for doctors by about a quarter, raise patient comprehension by roughly half and lower indicators of burnout by decreasing (after-hours) documentation. The doctor dashboard tracks acceptance rates of AI notes, time saved per consultation and engagement with follow-up tasks. On the patient’s side, plain-language summaries and medication tracking help people stick to their treatment plans and feel more confident. Clinics, insurers, researchers, and pharmaceutical companies can obtain anonymised insights that can help the assessment and development of treatments, based on user feedback and insights, which has never been as rich as with CareSync.

By reducing doctor administrative workload, and improving patient literacy, CareSync can create a digital disruption in a sector that is lagging behind the modern technology. CareSync not only aims to benefit those patients and hospitals that implement the software, but the whole healthcare system in general, thanks to insights that have never been available before.
