Media manipulation

Today we get our information from the internet, television, newspaper and other mediums. What we don’t know (actually we do know we just don’t do anything about it) is that the media manipulates us. Even little things are manipulated by the media. I don’t know if someone of you remembers the last World Cup Football when Germany got kicked out of the cup and the television showed us a German supporter crying. Later we found out the frame of a German supporter crying didn’t happened the same day, it was a frame that was cut and put into the match. This shows us what the media does with us.

I have another example for you. Just look at the picture at the bottom. This is a good demonstration how the media can change our perception. Imagine you work as an commander and you want to show your soldiers to be hard and not to show mercy in war. As commander you’re going to show the left picture. Now imagine you’re a recruiter for the army and you want to show good the army is. Now you are going to show the right picture. There you see how our perception is changed by the one and same picture.

With my blog I want everyone to be skeptical towards the media and not to believe everything the media tells us,Image

Since the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 by Steve Jobs we have seen several iPhone’s. Over the years Apple had improved their product with more and more new features. The latest models we have are the iPhone 5S and 5C.
Today I read on the internet Apple is launching a new iPhone in 2014. These new iPhone’s have a 4,7 inch and a 5,7 inch display. I guess these iPhone’s probably have a faster processor and a better camera to next to the latest iPhone 5S.

On the internet we see pictures and videos of people standing in line for weeks to get new iPhone’s. I was wondering why people do this. I came up with the idea that these people do this to satisfy their own ego. They don’t buy a new iPhone because the phone they have right now is broken or not working proper. It is the inner ego they want to satisfy. They see other people with the latest model and want that too. They see other people waiting in lines weeks before the new iPhone’s in launched in stores, and they do it too.

I was wondering what you opinion is about this topic. Or can somebody give me good reasons to this phenomenon?

WhatsApp vs The Rest

WhatsApp Messenger is a platform for instant messaging service for smartphones. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages. WhatsApp has over 250 million active users who make use of this application once a month. WhatsApp is also on top in the list for most downloads for a paid iPhone application.

My question now is: Why you people think WhatsApp is so popular among us. Even when we have good alternatives like iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts, Skype, ChatOn and many more.
