Nanobots implants could give humans ‘God-like’ intelligence.

According to lecture one, I would like to describe this subject more briefly. Ray Kurzweil has mentioned that the human brain could be enhanced by tiny robotic implants that connect to cloud-based computer networks to give us ‘God-like’ abilities. He predicts that by 2030, humans will be using nanobots. The nano machines consists of capsules of DNA that can change their shape in response to certain conditions in the body and a molecular ‘car’ that uses ball of carbon as wheels. (dailymail.com,2016)

Creating the nanobots is almost the same as creating living robots. The idea behind the nanobots is that the implants will expand the neocortex. The neocortex is the part of our brains that involves higher functionality such as sensory perception, the ability of understanding language and argue (Wikipedia,2016). The nanobots allows human to be connected to the internet and send e-mails to each other or share pictures to other’s brains, while also backing up our thoughts and memories. In addition, the nanobots can also expand the capacity for our emotions and creativity and thus expand the capacity for our brains. Nanobots will have a great influence on and expand the neocortex; this will make humans more ‘God-like’. Our additional levels of abstraction will be higher, we will create more profound means of expressions, so that we are going to be funnier, sexier and musical. (dailymail.com,2016)

Untill now, I highlighted the positive side of nanobots, as they will expand the positive capabilities of the human brains; a human will be more perfect. On the other side, we should be concerned about these mysterious things that are swimming into your head and leaving them there; how to bring in these nanobots and how to remove? Other scientists are skeptical about the nanobots. We currently understand a little bit of how the brains work, so how can we expect that the nanobots will expand the neocortex. Furthermore, there is a possibility that our cell will attack the foreign bodies and kick them out. (huffingtonpost.com,2016).

Uber has started the testing of four self driving cars in Pittsburgh. Only pre-selected users of Uber were able to choose the option to ride in a self-driving car. It’s an attempt of Uber to disrupt transportation. (wired.com,2016)

Can you imagine that in the future it could be possible to drive around without having a drivers license. Saving time is an important advantage of the self-driving cars. Why would you drive 2 hours to get somewhere if you also can take a nap or do something for work? Besides this, it is also important that you get somewhere easily and safely. Google has shown that worldwide more than 1.2 million traffic accidents cause deaths. By developing and using self-driving cars, this number can be reduced, since 94% of traffic accidents in the U.S. involve human error. (google.com,2016)

The first Uber test self-driving cars are Ford Fusion hybrid cars that includes a lot of cameras, sensors, lasers and intertial measureent units. The cars also include a special system for resources and data storage. Each car will also have two employees who are seated in the 2 front seats. The person in the driving seat is trained to drive the car and the other employee is an engineer. His job is to take notes and solve potential problems during the proces. (eweek.com,2016)

Unlike other companies that are developing self-driving cars, Uber finds it important to share the testing experience with its customers. What will be the feeling of non-engineers while being a part of the experience.

I have only described a part of Uber’s development of self-driving cars. Uber won’t say when they are ready to bring their cars on the market. Competitors are promosing to bring it on the market within the next three to five years also with the possibility to share cars. It’s just a matter of time before our driving licenses won’t be usefull anymore. (wired.com,2016)

Fake followers and likes are big business

Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter; Almost everybody has at least one of them. Is it important to get as many likes as you can? I’m not sure, but I do know there are people who will get as many likes as they can. Even if this means that they have to buy their likes.

Nowadays, sellers of fake accounts, and thus fake likes and followers, get more money than the people who steals credit card numbers. Buying your online reputation is bigger than ever. I did a little research and maybe you can open Google and search for; “Buying Facebook fans or Instagram likes”. I promise, you will be surprised.  For some people it is interesting that they can buy 10.000 followers on Twitter for 20 euros or 2000 retweets for 6 dollars. Especially if you don’t know that much about that kind of social media. Because numbers don’t say a lot to you if you can’t interpret them. I bet you will say that 2000 retweets or 10.000 followers is ridiculous.

But how does it work? How is it possible that there are so many fake profiles and likes? A couple of years ago, the Virus “Zeus” was used to steal credit card data through the Internet. This same virus is used for the creating of fake likes and profiles on, for example, Instagram (tech365.nl). I found out that there are even different strategies in buying followers; Aggressive follower technique (buy a lot of followers everyday) and Zombie account following  (paying a 3th party for X amount of followers) (iag.me,2016)

But what do you think is more important; A lot of fans or just a couple of real friends? I bet you’re saying real friends. But let’s be honest; who hasn’t wanted to boost the likes on a picture or post, or boost your followers (not only individuals, but also companies).
