Most people will be quite familiar with 3D televisions. Whereas conventional televisions are only two dimensional, the 3D technology enables viewers to watch movies and television in a third dimension. By wearing special goggles a viewer will get the illusion of depth within television.

This 3D technology is quite revolutionary on its own. A viewer is getting the feeling that objects on screens are coming directly out of the TV. So you might wonder what can be left to experience?

Researches in Korea have announced the newest revolution within the media industry, which is the 4D television. The TV is able to stimulate more senses than just sight and sound. You will actually feel what’s going on in the screen – you will be immersed in it.

Many theatres have incorporated this technology by adding features like moving seats and blowing fans. These features are able to create settings which can’t be obtained by conventional ways of watching movies. Some theatres has gone even so far by incorporating smells into their movies – often with less success than was hoped for. Numerous people have described these movie experiences as ‘intense’.

Nevertheless, the researchers think that this technology will be added unto the newest television releases from big manufactures. If this innovation will hold, it could mean that we will have to buy new devices all over again. A television is a big investment for most people, so the benefits of this technology will have to outweigh the costs.

So will the 4D technology eventually be the next big deal after 3D? If you ask me, I highly doubt it. It seems like a very unnecessary feature which is even experienced as negative by many viewers. However, technology never stands still for too long, so chances are that 4D could potentially take over the media industry.

Innovation does not always mean good: the launch of iPhone7

Back in 2007 Steve Jobs shook the world by introducing the first revolutionary iPhone. Apple set the bar by simply making everything it touched work better. Although many criticize apple for not being inventive, no one can deny that they have an unparalleled record as an innovator. Throughout the years Apple kept on improving and creating new phones that changed the game for competitors.

On September 16 Apple launched its latest additions to the Apple family – the iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus. With the announcement of the phones, Apple improved basic features such as its camera and water resistance. It did basically the same as any other competitor in the game. However, one added feature was quite innovative I must say – Apple got rid of his headphone jack, which raised some eyebrows. As a replacement, the company offers a pair of wireless headphones of $159, which will be able to connect to the device via Bluetooth. In addition, the company will include an adaptor for traditional headphones. The CEO of Apple gave a peculiar defense for this decision. The reason of the ‘break through’ was because of courage. “The courage to move on and do something new that betters all of us”. His comment has been scrutinized all over social media, as many people find the innovation rather useless and inconvenient. The wireless headphones are small, expensive and could be lost very easily. This shows that innovative doesn’t always mean good in my opinion.

Although Apple may still claim that the latest additions of the iPhone7 are the best iPhones the company has ever created, they look quite similar to the iPhone6. Besides the removed headphone jack, the biggest change to the former addition is the increase in price.

While there are many reasons not to buy Apple’s latest additions, consumers are still interested as the sales are piling up. The best thing for Apple is that they will know that consumers will still buy their products. They have created a huge brand and people simply love Apple.
