Moving to the Netherlands for my exchange program has been full of unexpected twists, but I never thought I’d be so baffled by… laundry. Back home, I’d barely touched a washing machine, and suddenly I found myself staring at one covered in Dutch instructions.

Desperate for help, I turned to Chat GPT. I thought, why not? And honestly, it ended up saving my sanity. It walked me through every single step on the way—what cycle to choose, what all those weird little symbols meant, and even how to use the dryer without shrinking my clothes into toddler-sized outfits. It even taught me on how to properly sort laundry (colors, whites, blacks etc) and told me to turn my jeans inside out to prevent wear and tear. Who knew laundry had so many rules?

I remember the day I found the Steinway & Sons SPIRIOCAST when it was being featured at Casa Cor an enormous exhibit that brings together the latest in design and innovation, from decoration to technology and more. There were all manner of digital gadgets on display: machines designed to press clothes for you while you relax, smart fridges that can order your groceries, and mirrors programmed to scan your skin and suggest beauty products. But really, none of those impressed me as much as the SPIRIOCAST piano.

It’s not just any player piano, it’s like having a world-class concert at your fingertips. Matched with the latest technology, this piano can live-stream performances from anywhere in the world, in real time! Can you imagine what must it be like to enjoy a performance from Rachmaninoff or Billy Joel from the comfort of your living room? Each song captures each touch on the keys to the specific pedal movements, due to the very sophisticated AI and analytics in the system. It’s a perfect example of how digital innovation can completely transform a traditional experience.

What makes SPIRIOCAST a game-changer for me is how it uses AI and analytics to recreate the soul of live performances, while still embracing modern technology. I’m sure that If I had the money, wouldn’t hesitate to buy one (even though the price tag ranges from $122,000 to over $400,000). It’s not something you buy impulsively, but can you imagine having the world’s greatest pianists perform in your home, whenever you want? It’s not just an instrument, it’s an experience!

If money weren’t an issue, would you consider investing in something like this, or would you prefer the traditional charm of a live concert hall? Is this digital evolution worth the high price tag?
